There are many complex, fragile factors to balancing work and life. Round and about productivity can be a problem or a good thing, depending on the situation at work. The following article discusses some statistics involved in this topic.
Out of the respondents of the following survey, 87 percent say they are overworked. However, rather astonishingly, over one third of them still say they do not feel overloaded.
So just how much are workers overworked? 39.2 percent say they are overworked by five or more hours, 35 percent say they are overworked by two to five hours.
13.1 percent of workers say they are overworked by one or more hours. 12.7 percent are not overworked by any hours at all.
So who is achieving the best work and life balance? 42.1 percent say that they do maintain a good work and life balance. 11.5 percent say that they often do feel overworked. The remaining 46.4 percent say that they do feel overloaded at least occasionally.
Who is it that feels the happiest in the work place? 50.8 percent of team members say they are happy. 40.5 percent of executives tend to be joyful in their work.
36.8 percent of managers, 35.5 percent of freelancers and 29 percent of business owners are happy with their life. In fact, not only are these people happy, they feel entirely satisfied with their work and life balance.
Best Times of Day
People tend to feel the most productive at different parts of the day. People tend to feel the most productive earlier in the day. At 8am, 64 percent of people are the most productive. 12pm gets 13.4 percent of productivity.
At 4pm, 10.9 percent of people feel the most productive. 8pm gets 6.2 percent of the most productivity. Between 12 and 8 am, 5.5 percent of people are the most productive.
With work place productivity, there are early birds and there are night owls. 10.2 percent of those that are early birds tend to feel more overworked. The night owls’ overload rate is dramatically higher at 26.7 percent. This means that working late is simply not good for you.
So what is it exactly that turbocharges the productivity of workers? There are different efficiency secrets for every worker. For 76.8 percent of workers, it is simply a sense of responsibility.
56.9 percent of workers are productive simply for a good mood. 42.1 percent of workers are productive for a possible reward, 31.8 percent of workers are productive in order to take a break.
As for the smaller percentages, 28.4 percent of people are productive just to be able to change activities. 11.8 percent are productive for other reasons. 4.7 percent of people are productive only for the fear of their superiors.
