The ENFJ focuses their life on giving back to others and bringing out the best in them. They have an innate ability to understand others on a deep level and bring out the best in them, much to their personal satisfaction.
Their primary internal instinct makes them prone to using feelings to interpret the things around them, whether making decisions or fitting such things into their morality system. Their secondary external instinct allows them to take in different scenarios by using their intuition, responding accordingly to that ‘gut feeling.’
The Giver or ENFJ individual unconditionally gives back to the people that travel in and out of their lives. However, these traits may manifest differently within women and men. Let’s take a look at how ENFJ traits manifest in both women and men in this article.
ENFJ As A Woman
The ENFJ woman gives back to others before taking care of herself. She is attuned to the needs of the people around her, but may live a contradictory lifestyle of maintaining a facade and underestimating her own personal needs.
The Giver is a people focused individual. She lives in a world where she sees positive possibilities in the people around her. Many women with this classification often focus their life on giving support, love and enjoyment to other people. ENFJ women tend to have careers where they work with others in a highly social environment, such as teaching or counseling.
The ENFJ woman’s main focus is making things happen for other people. Their people skills tend to be so intuitive that they can make people do exactly what they wish them to accomplish. Although some tend to use this ability to manipulate, others with pure intentions use this ability to turn people into the best they can be.
The ENFJ woman wants to bring out the best in others. She often values personal reasoning over that involving logic and facts. They’re individuals that have no issue developing ideas that can lead to possibilities in other people, particularly if they can bring that potential to fruition.
Although completely attuned with other people’s needs, the ENFJ woman may neglect her own. She may develop a facade to avoid showing the people around what she really may be like inside, especially if her true self may impact how others may perceive her.
This fear of changing other people’s perception of her highly social nature often causes ENFJ women to develop a facade or become more chameleon-like around others to help them achieve their goals. Due to this, it’s highly encouraged for ENFJ women to take some alone time to recharge, so they don’t neglect their personal needs.
Many ENFJ women value close intimate relationships, often putting a lot of effort into starting such a relationship. Loyal and trustworthy, they make incredible partners and often act as the moral support in a family or friend group.
ENFJ As A Man
The ENFJ man brings out the best in people to the best of his own ability. He is straightforward as he is honest and tends to be good at anything that captures his interest.
In social situations, ENFJ men are very adaptable to their surroundings. They tend to do an excellent job working around other people, a natural fit for jobs with highly social roles. Some ENFJ men may find fulfillment pursuing a career in teaching, counseling or working as a motivational coach for people from all walks of life.
The ENFJ man likes being the center of attention, but not to the detriment of others. He likes inspiring others to bring out the best in themselves and will say what he needs to say to encourage them to feel much happier. Some men may manifest a manipulative streak, though pure hearted individuals will ultimately influence others to do what’s right for their sake and not their own.
ENFJ men, like their counterparts, do have a tendency to develop a facade and may rarely show their true selves around others if they feel it might influence the people around them to think of them differently. They also tend to hold back their personal opinions and beliefs at the cost of being more supportive and open to others.
Some men, although highly self confident, may fail to express their feelings to others, especially if they’re personal. They also value close and intimate personal relationships and are often attuned with the needs of their kin, moreso than men of other personality types.
Despite that, the ENFJ man does value personal reasoning and may react unfavorably to situations in which logic and facts are needed for reasoning. They are very open to developing ideas that can lead to possibilities, particularly if they involve people in any way.
ENFJ individuals are open to possibilities, otherwise the infinite potential in the people they care about and want to find ways to nurture that potential, at the expense of living in the present.
