ENFP is one of the sixteen personality types as classified by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or MBTI. ENFP is an acronym for extraversion, intuition, feeling and perception.
E is for Extraversion
People with ENFP personality are outgoing. They rejoice their associations or camaraderie with others and would often be more interested in interactions with others than keeping to oneself. They like to be among people and they love to socialize.
N is for Intuition
A person with ENFP personality will be intuitive, will look at the macro picture and would be drawn more by the abstract than the tangible.
F is for Feeling
The feeling part of the ENFP dominates reasoning and decision making. People with such a personality are more willing to consider personal values and interpersonal relations than objectivity while making any kind of decision or choice. Logic takes a backseat.
P is for Perception
A person with ENFP personality will allow perceptions to prevail and would delay inferential analysis. They would not judge a situation or a person objectively or factually and would rather have their perception dictate the path forward.
Some of the most popular people with ENFP personality type Robert Downey, Jr., Meg Ryan, Carol Burnett, Robin Williams, Andy Rooney, Sandra Bullock and Alicia Silverstone.
The most notable ENFP characteristics are curiosity, energy and communication. These people are forever curious. Give them anything new or to toy with and they would be very happy. This curiosity is partly a reason why such people are also very enthusiastic. They would seldom run out of energy. Their energy is also infectious to a great degree. That is one of the many reasons why such people can become great campaigners. They can come up with an idea and infect everyone around them with the idea and galvanize opinion or even start a movement.
Their communication skills also come in handy in such causes. Owing to their curiosity, they are very observant. Curious people satiated their urge by being observant which in turn helps them to understand the world around them. People with ENFP personality are very friendly and thus popular in social circles and they really know how to party, or at least how to unwind and rejuvenate.
There are some negative ENFP characteristics as well. They are not very practical. Their curiosity can make it difficult for them to focus on one thing. They might indulge in excessive pondering, but not brooding. They also get stressed more often than frequent.
