The ENTJ personality is one that directly identifies their career as part of their life. They love to have jobs where there is lots of variety required of them every day. Creative problem solving and being able to meet interesting people are two points of emphasis that the ENTJ is going to actively seek out when trying to find a job. This makes this personality classification strong leaders, conflict resolvers, and hard workers.
Because of these traits, there are certain ENTJ careers to avoid at all costs. Here are the top career fields that ENTJs are not going to want to pursue.
1. Data Entry.
The ENTJ thrives in an environment where they are allowed to use their creativity as part of the work completion process. For a career that is focused of data entry, specific quotas, and procedures that must be followed to the letter every time, the ENTJ is going to grow quickly frustrated. This is why a career in data entry should be avoided whenever possible.
2. Creative Arts.
Although working as an artist allows the ENTJ to explore their creative side, it should actually be avoided because many aspects of their career will be outside of their control. They are forced to be at the whim of the crowd in order to make money and that ultimately means the same performances and skills will be on display at that will ultimately create boredom.
3. Truck Driver.
Although driving a truck would be initially exciting for the ENTJ, it would quickly become dull. This is especially true if the career would require someone to drive the same route on every single delivery. This effect would be delayed for multiple delivery routes, but ultimately this personality is going to stop caring about arriving on time because they’ll be looking for alternative routes to liven things up.
The skills needed to be a carpenter are unique, but the implementation of those skills is repetitive. The ENTJ doesn’t mind working with their hands to make things, but being forced to make the same things repetitively is going to leave a bad taste in the ENTJ’s mouth.
The ENTJ should look for high variety leadership careers that allow for personal growth to experience the most success. By avoiding these career options at the very least, however, the ENTJ will find a better measure of happiness with their work.
