ENTPs tend to be laid back more than other personality types, but they are also positive and upbeat about life. They love having a good debate and aren’t afraid to initiate interactions with others. Sometimes this love of debate goes to far and the ENTP gets involved in relationship arguments where they feel the need to prove themselves. If something is exciting, then this personality type is going to pursue it. That means they may neglect their relationships in order to find success.
For this reason, the INFJ or the INTJ tend to provide the best ENTP relationship compatibility. These two personality types aren’t afraid to stand up to the argumentative ENTP and they operate independently if their partner is pursuing something exciting.
A Problem With Following Through
ENTPs are filled with great dreams. They are constantly asking questions to see how they can better themselves and improve their relationships. The only problem is that they also tend to avoid the difficult questions that lead to the greatest improvements. ENTPs may even choose not to follow through with their ideas, leading their relationships to doubt the validity of every idea over time.
At the same time, however, the ENTP tends to be very spontaneous and like to engage activities at a moment’s notice. They match up well with INFJs and INTJs because of a shared love of promoting a growing relationship that stays healthy. These two personality types also provide a system of accountability to the ENTP that is not always liked, but often appreciated.
ENTPs Fear Virtually No Risk
What ENTPs tend to struggle with the most is their love of taking a risk. When combined with their overall spontaneity, some decisions that seem good at the time wind up being not so good. This is seen especially in a relationship’s financial situation. ENTPs act quickly, but not always wisely, and this can create a lot of stress on a relationship.
INFJs and INTJs also tend to see a relationship as being meaningful in actions instead of word, which is why they are the most compatible with the ENTP. ENTPs will generally perform actions to show that they care rather than discuss their emotions or express themselves. There’s a little bit of a child inside each ENTP and this fun approach to life can make for a very rewarding relationship.
