As a personality that thrives on logic, continuity, and order, ESTJs (Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging) are always going to focus on how things are organized which eventually turns into supervision. They will love to organize people and things based on their agendas and their personal theories. These people will always enforce their rules that are created through tradition or handed down from a person in an authoritative position.
The Social Life of an ESTJ
In social situations they will look for people that are like-minded and will generally join organizations with people who have the same interests. They will need to feel loved and like they belong to a larger group of people and the rest of the family will always circle around an ESTJ. A person with this personality will also think that their family is the center of their existence and attend every family event such as reunions, funerals, and weddings.
Traditions are incredibly important to an ESTJ and this particularly includes annual celebrations. If they are religious, they will certainly celebrate traditions throughout the year based on their chosen religion. They will be curious about their roots and may even find themselves tracing their familial heritage to see where their family came from. ESTJs are incredibly responsible and they love the feeling of giving a good service, this improves their self-image.
Living with Stress
When they encounter stressful situations they will be seen as weak and subjective, making them want to take control of the situation and try to set it right. They won’t compromise and they will be the dominating personality of the group by making others see their viewpoint and believing that it is the only logical part of the situation.
On the other side, they may become affectionate and crave personal contact but since they cannot give into their emotional needs, they will begin to disrespect others and blame them for being corrupt. There will be a time when self-righteous anger will take over their being and push them even further down.
If the stress becomes incredibly intense they will show their frustration in the most inappropriate ways which is why it is imperative that family and friends work together to keep ESTJs comfortable during stressful situations. They may have random bursts of anger and begin exhibiting impulsive behaviors such as drinking and partying excessively. They may even begin to eat more than usual which could lead to obesity and other health ailments.
