The Working Habits Of Female And Male Workers

It provides insight into the working habits of female and male workers. 88 percent of men are overworked, whereas 85 percent of females say they feel overworked. 29 percent of females are overworked five or more hours per week, while 45 percent of men say the same.


Males claim to be able to handle be overworked a little easier than females. 33.2 percent of overworked women and 40 percent of overworked men say that despite being overworked, they still achieve a satisfactory work and life balance.

According to a survey, the rate of satisfaction tends to depend upon the job position. Of team members, 41 percent of women and 49 percent of men tend to find more satisfaction.

Of executives, 24 percent of women and 41 percent of men can find satisfaction at their job. Of business owners themselves, 14 percent of women and 28 percent of men are satisfied with their higher ranking job positions.

Common Techniques

There are different techniques to productivity that people rely on at work. Statistics prove that females tend to trust personal work hacks more than men, with 54.8 percent of women and 49.8 percent of men relying on personal work hacks.

Other known methods such as GTD tend to be more popular among men, with 34 percent of males and 23.2 percent of females utilizing different techniques.

Males and females also seem to have different habits as far as sharing work. More males rely on delegation, 48.9 percent, in fact, while 36.7 percent of females utilize delegation practices.

Women are more likely to attempt to get everything done by themselves. 18.4 percent of females and 12.8 percent of males rely solely on themselves for all their work place tasks.

When it comes to motivation, it seems that men are more motivated by prospective rewards than women are. 45.8 percent of men and 35.6 percent of women care about rewards.

What Hurts Productivity

Productivity killers differ between men and women as well, at least slightly. Women are more likely to recognize productivity killers than men. Productivity killers can be anything from interruptions by co-workers to frequently checking your email. 38.4 percent of males and 44.3 percent of females see interruptions as the biggest obstacle to productivity.

What do all these stats mean exactly? It means that men and women, not to mention other demographics, experience the work place in different ways. These are just a few of the many differences between females and males in the work place.

These many variations should be taken into consideration when managers are planning their work style strategies. It is important to note the subtle differences between all demographics in the work place.

Every individual is unique in their particular, specific working style. This should always be taken into consideration in the work place. Not only are women and men different, but so is every person you come into contact with. One size does not always fit all in the work place.
