Because they have so much in common with each other, INFJ and INTJ compatibility is often smooth and seamless. Each enjoys spending time with their relationship partner doing things that have equal value to each party. What brings these two personality types together, however, can also help to drive them apart over time because they are so alike.
Joy Is the Foundation of This Relationship
Both the INFJ and the INTJ enjoy many of the simple things in life. Neither person requires extra company in order to enjoy what life has to offer, but having a partner who is so alike does provide a value enhancement and that is why the relationship becomes “acceptable” to both partners. They understand each other, enjoy doing the same things, and not a single word needs to be said between them to effectively communicate the joy that is being experienced.
Simple activities are often the emphasis of INFJ and INTJ compatibility. The relationship might share an exclusive, small group of friends and will enjoy doing things like sitting in a park or going for a walk around their neighborhood together. Every common interest that the two partners share is going to enhance the relationship.
Someone Has to Be the Extrovert
Because both the INFJ and INTJ are heavily invested into the introverted nature of their personality type, this relationship forces one of them to at least “play” the role of being an extrovert. This can be a very big struggle for the partner who is forced into this role and it can make them uncomfortable enough to abandon the relationship altogether. If it doesn’t, many find that common interests are difficult to find and this puts stress on the relationship.
INFJ and INTJ compatibility also struggles to find a network of supports within their community to help their relationship. Because of the judgmental nature of both parties and a keen ability to find argument loopholes, even extended families and church groups that would normally take on such a role find themselves staying away from it. This means the INTJ and INFJ are forced to rely on each other instead and this can be trying for their relationship.
Common points of interest are important to find for proper compatibility. If this effort is made in the early days of the relationship, then a higher probability of long-term success can be achieved.
