Some say that the INTJ and ENFP are the perfect match for each other because opposites attract so well. Others say that INTJ and ENFP compatibility is virtually impossible to manage. It is true that when the INTJ is plotting and quiet, the ENFP is caring and impulsive. INTJs love to view the world in creative ways while the ENFP looks to be spontaneous and energetic. Is it possible to find common ground with these two personality types?
Can INTJs Actually Become Optimistic?
ENFPs are very outgoing people. They love having a good time and are one of the few personality types that have a genuine love for all people. What helps them pair up with the INTJ so well is that they can take criticism for what it is and use it to make themselves better. Instead of being overly sensitive to the logical comments and observations of the INTJ, ENFPs will use those observations to their advantage.
The problem that INTJ and ENFP compatibility faces is right away at the beginning of a relationship. ENFPs have what could be called an “addiction” to be liked by everyone. In many ways, ENFPs define themselves based on how others see them. INTJs, on the other hand, tend to keep all strangers away at a distance until they feel like they can trust them. If the ENFP pushes too hard to be liked, the INTJ is just going to push them away.
Drama Has to Stay Contained
INTJs don’t really give two thoughts to the impact of emotions unless there is a logical progression to what is happening that makes sense. ENFPs are completely different, often finding themselves in the middle of an ongoing drama with several friends at the same time. The emotions are meant to help make sure everyone feels valued, but the INTJ finds no value in emotional investments unless they support a long-term vision.
INTJs may be private and easily misunderstood, but ENFPs will wear their emotions right on their sleeve. What these two personality types realize over time, however, is that both have highly rate values upon which they won’t compromise without good reason. These values are internalized as well, giving INTJ and ENFP compatibility another place of common ground.
One is full of curiosity. The others can’t help but look for new possibilities. That’s ultimately why INTJs and ENFPs get along so well.
