INTJ is one of the sixteen personality types as classified by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or MBTI. INTJ is an acronym for introversion, intuition, thinking and judging. People with INTJ personality are always ready with a plan. They cannot be called schemers or connivers as their plan is more constructive but if they want then they can come up with shrewd strategies. It is owing to a reason and certain INTJ functions and characteristics that make them the go-to person.
There were and are many famous people who had and have the INTJ personality. John F. Kennedy, Vladimir Putin, Rudy Giuliani, Paul Krugman Donald Rumsfeld, Samantha Power, Colin Powell, Lance Armstrong, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Richard Gere, Thomas Jefferson, Woodrow Wilson, Hannibal and Augustus Caesar among many others have INTJ functions and characteristics. The personality has often been noted in popular fictional characters. Gandalf the Grey in the cult classic The Lord of the Rings has an INTJ personality. Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games also has many INTJ characteristics.
Three INTJ characteristics stand out as the hallmarks of this personality. Such people have the right attitude no matter what job they are in or what they are expected to do. They truly believe that everything is achievable if there is the right attitude and the right approach, including planning or strategizing. To facilitate impeccable planning, such people develop a belief in principles. No matter how many principles they endorse and practice, they would be unshakeable. They wouldn’t abandon those principles at any cost, regardless of the situation they are in.
INTJ characteristics include being imaginative, harboring a rational approach to life and towards others, being curious and learning anything new in a very short span of time. People with such a personality don’t take ages to make a decision or to acquire a new skill. They don’t like spending a lot of time brooding or trying to wonder what the fallout of their decision would be. They are decisive, will take the call and would stand by it. This makes them fiercely independent. Such people are often multitalented and multifaceted. They may master many skills and would be a jack of all trades.
There are certain undesirable or negative INTJ characteristics as well. They can be judgmental, arrogant, excessively analytical, too harsh or hard on themselves and on others and they don’t really feel comfortable in romantic moments.
