An INTJ person is someone who sits back, assimilates all of the information that is floating around them, studies it, and then offers a solution when the timing is right. They don’t think “out loud” as many extroverted people do. They simply study, ask clear questions, and proceed toward a well-defined outcome based on their circumstances.
Every team has an INTJ person, and if they don’t then they should. The analysis that this group of people can do on any given problem is outstanding and their answers, though usually short and concise, are often the correct solution. That’s why having them in a leadership position is such an effective resource to have!
How Does An Introvert Succeed In Leadership?
An INTJ leader isn’t necessarily going to be in charge of the biggest team. They’re actually generally content to remain in a follower-type of position, but only as long as the leader of a team that they’re on is deemed to be competent. If incompetence is shown by a leader, then the INTJ person just can’t help themselves because they often know the right way to steer the ship.
Why are INTJ leaders often at the head of smaller teams? Because their disregard of the social interactions that more extroverted people rely upon can get them in trouble from a leadership relationship standpoint. What you’ll often find, however, is that INTJ leaders often adopt the personality they need to be in the position they are in because they’ve analyzed the situation and realized what kind of leader a team needs.
It is not uncommon for a leader who is naturally an INTJ to test out as an ENTJ when tested solely on their work responsibilities.
Are INTJ’s Natural Born Leaders?
If you want to find a good leader for your team, then look for an INTJ person. That’s because they almost always know more about what is going on, than they let on. They might have ideas that seem like they came from left field, but those ideas are generally the best course of action to take. They’ll stand up for competence, work to eliminate incompetence, and though they can sometimes be blunt, they’re also the most consistent leaders you’ll have.
Not everyone can be an INTJ person, but you can learn these traits and adapt their skills to mimic their leadership styles. In doing so, you may just find an added level of success!
