The ISFJ is one of the greatest helpers that the world has ever seen. Their greatest strength is their ability to provide meaningful supports to others through their experience and knowledge. The time and energy that they spend finding solutions or supporting the actions of others is very meaningful to them. On the opposite end of the equation, the greatest weakness of the ISFJ is that they often are too selfless, neglecting themselves in order to care for others.
Here are some of the additional ISFJ strengths and weaknesses to consider.
The Strengths of the ISFJ
1. They are extremely patient.
ISFJs would rather see a job well-done that is 5 days late than a job that is on time, but with subpar quality. They have a very meticulous nature about them and believe that slow and steady always wins the race.
2. They are very observant.
To the ISFJ, life is like a puzzle. They see pieces moving in many different directions, but know how to move those pieces around to get the best results. This personality type is practical, yet still imaginative and this produces results.
3. They are loyal.
The ISFJ doesn’t just ante up. They go all-in when they believe in a cause. They are so dedicated, in fact, that they will often be the last to leave a sinking ship because they so strongly believe in the work they are doing.
The Weaknesses of the ISFJ
1. They are stuffers.
It is like a dentist pulling out a tough tooth to get an ISFJ to share their feelings. They repress many of their feelings and keep them internalized until they eventually explode. Finding coping skills is critical to the ongoing success of this personality type.
2. They overestimate their skills.
ISFJs tend to believe that they are the best at what they do, so they refuse to delegate many jobs to avoid subpar results. This means most ISFJs could be classified as workaholics.
3. They struggle with criticism.
Every component of the ISFJs life has some sort of meaning to it. They take their work results seriously and any criticism, no matter how constructive it happens to be, will be taken very personally.
The ISFJ strengths and weaknesses make it possible for more to be accomplished every day because of their love of a supporting role. As long as their workloads are independently managed, the ISFJ tends to find success wherever they may go.
