Who Was Zig Ziglar
Born on November 6, 1926, Hilary Hinton “Zig” Ziglar was an American motivational speaker, salesman and author, who died on November 28, 2012. He was born within southern Alabama particularly in Coffee County to parents Lila Wescott Ziglar and John Silas Ziglar. Being 10th of the twelve children in the family, Zig became the most successful among his siblings.
In addition to his focus on Christianity, Zig had the goal for helping people in achieving success not only in their careers, but most especially to their personal lives. Zig used to be a creative speaker who was seen at events together with world leaders that include a number of US presidents and Margaret Thatcher (former British Prime Minister).
According to someone who was with him, Mr. Ziglar was similar man behind closed doors, while he prepared for his creative presentations in front of several audiences that he used to be when they were sitting in the kitchen table as he reads the newspaper. According to pastor and friend of Zig Ziglar, Jack Graham (Prestonwood Baptist Church Pastor), Zig was truly filled with so much faith. In addition to his statement, he said that Zig was hopeful and at the same time very positive. You just hardly ever hear negativity from this man. It was not only something he considered on the platform. It was who Zig really was. It is how he spent his life along with helping a lot of people.
Zig has also been considered as the leader of the leaders as well as the mentor of the mentors and just about any other things that you could say. It was at the age of 40 when Ziglar begun his permanent career within motivational speaking. He wrote his initial book that is entitled as “See You at the Top”. At the age of 45, Zig has accepted Jesus Christ and starting that day is the one he considered as his life’s turning point.
Zig Ziglar also had the strange capability of making people feel like they are his friends. A veteran of the World War II, Ziglar grew up within Yazoo City, Mississippi. He went his employment within the sales industry for a number of companies in which his interest on motivational speaking developed. It was during the late 1960s when Ziglar has transferred to Dallas.
Featuring more than one dozen speakers who are advocates of the “Ziglar Way”, Ziglar’s company provides performance and motivation training. After the death of his eldest daughter in 1995, his book that is entitled “Confessions of a Grieving Christian” was produced.
